We want to be that guy who doesn’t care that today is his birthday. “It’s just another day” he says.
We want to be that guy who martyrs himself, suffering deeply just so others can be happy. “It’s okay” he says, though it’s not really.
We want to be that guy who complains about not having money, but he still gives to charity. He hopes karma will turn his life around or that somebody would give him a break.
We want to be that guy who’s always second place, or third, or fourth. “It’s good enough” he thinks, hoping that indeed, the recognition is enough.
We want to be that guy, the nice one who finishes last. “Maybe one day” he laments.
We want to be that guy who wonders when success will come, but that hope is dim. That light at the end can’t be seen really, because he himself doesn’t know what to do.
We want to be that guy who doesn’t get what he wants in life, but he tells himself, “At least I’m nice to my mom.”
We all want to be that guy…
You know, I call bullshit on that. What you should do instead:
Stop trying to be somebody else. It’s already taken. Just be yourself.
Stop trying to be an idea. Have ideas only. Then apply action, work on them until it becomes real. You’ll be real then.
Stop wanting. Get off your ass and get what you want. You deserve way more than you think.
