At the bar I work at now, about a month ago, we encountered a racist customer.
He was a prick of an old man.
A friend of mine that night came to visit me. My friend had dark skin.
So this racist asshole started making comments that all only alluded to the color of my friend’s skin.
Then at one point, he even asked my friend, “When are you going to bomb the place?”
I was pretty mad honestly. And thinking back to this story still pisses me off.
I remember talking about this to one of my bosses and he lamented how it upsets him too. He also said how this shit is pretty much everywhere and it’s simply part of life.
That’s the irony I guess.
It sucks, but it’s true. Assholes exist everywhere.
And if you want to feel better about it, you have to accept it.
It sounds counter-intuitive, but it’s true.
Accept that life is filled with assholes, racist pricks, and that idiots everywhere defy common sense by wanting to be downright evil, and you will feel a lot better.
This kind of at least helps take a load off.
No, you aren’t the only one who is dealt this bullshit.
No, you don’t have to take on the world and its problems alone.
And no, you can’t change the world overnight by expecting others to have common sense like you.
Just accept that life is like that, and then try your best your own way to make the world a better place.
Take me for example: I just write and share stories and hopefully some people are inspired enough to think about what I say or even take action upon.
I don’t foresee myself running for anything to change the law or whatever.
And I certainly don’t want to go ape shit and destroy assholes out there. THAT would be truly counter intuitive.
So chill. Again, do your best.
The assholes already stopped trying.
Go here for for 100 Days of No-bullshit happiness to get rid of bullshit and assholes like that.
I reduced the price of the book yo! Way cheaper!
