I think that in life, a lot of people have it in their heads that opportunities come in a super nice package.
It has to be served on a silver platter.
It has to be extremely clear in its benefits, as if guaranteeing results, especially in fame and fortune.
It has to be easy too, where the supposed opportunity brings forth easy results for the least amount of work.
Heck, we think that opportunities need to have large neon sign that says, “Opportunity to a better life here!”
Then, these opportunities should provide the ever-elusive milestone or breakthrough we all hope for.
But that’s all wishful thinking. It’s all bullshit.
Shit does not fall onto your lap.
Opportunities don’t come all bright and shiny with a clear vision of the future.
Opportunities come as they are, blurry, weird and scary even.
Opportunities come in all shapes and sizes too.
You aren’t supposed to know if it’s going to amass fortunes for you. You aren’t supposed to know what’s going to happen in the future. You aren’t even supposed to feel comfortable about it.
You have to open up and grab all the chances you can get, big or small.
You’re supposed to feel fucked up and then take it anyway.
But that is where the magic would happen.
You’d learn and grow from it. Then you’d be amazed by how one little bit can go such a long way.
And that’s how you play life.
So stop waiting for shit to fall onto your lap. It’ll never happen. The only time that happened was when you were a toddler and your parents were throwing toys at you.
You’re a grownup now. Get out there and grab some shit.
