We’re all guilty of this.
We dramatize the fuck out of our lives all the time, mostly with regard to the things we tell ourselves.
When things don’t go our way, we’re sure to blow things out pf proportion. As one of the interviewees in Eliminate World Anger told me, [bctt tweet=”we don’t complain about tripping over a mountain, we complain about tripping over a rock.”]
Well then, maybe it’s time you stop being such a dramatic little bitch.
Just because you experienced a series of annoying and unfortunate events doesn’t mean that the entire world or universe is against you. Chill the fuck out.
Just because you went on one bad date doesn’t mean that you bound to be alone forever. The next better one will come along.
Just because you lack some funds now doesn’t mean that you’ve hit rock bottom or that you’re broke. Just go work already.
Just because you’re constantly pissed off, sad or annoyed doesn’t mean that there’s something wrong with you. You just need to get a grip.
Just because a friend upset you doesn’t mean either one of you hate each other. Hate is a strong word and shouldn’t be used lightly.
Just because you heard about something about someone doesn’t mean it’s true. Only average people constantly gossip about other people.
These may sound straight forward enough, but here’s a gander of the flip side:
Just because you read one self-help book doesn’t mean all your problems are solved. A bunch of self-help platitudes aren’t going turn your life around.
Just because you’ve gone for some seminar, concert or some live event doesn’t mean you’re going to feel inspired forever. Inspiration does not last and needs to be constantly recharged.
Just because he or she act nice to you doesn’t mean that they are in love with you. Some people are really good at manipulating others as they spew forth flowery bullshit all the time.
Just because you experience a windfall doesn’t mean you should spend all your money. Learn how to save and plan for the future, idiot.
I guess we’re all a little crazy sometimes.
That’s why we need to take it down a notch, or two.
Life has its ups and downs. You can’t escape that. Just accept that and stop trying to filter reality.
People will always behave the way they’re meant to and some of them are bound to disagree with you one way or another. It’d only be aggravating to try to change them, so just be on your way.
You’re the actor, but here’s the cold, hard truth: Nobody really gives a shit about you. They may be judging you all the time, but they’ve their own lives to worry about. Your seeking attention will not play out like it should all the time.
Stop being so dramatic already.
