I love taking steps back

Stop moving forward. Don’t push yourself. Don’t work so hard. It’s not necessary to be so diligent. Seriously, stop working so hard! It ain’t worth it!

Sounds negative enough? But it’s true, you shouldn’t work so hard.

No this isn’t going to be a cliche post where I talk about how you should get out of the matrix and that you need to appreciate the finer things in life, because you know, life is too short and shit.

No, I am being for real when I say you should not move forward sometimes.

Take a step back

And reflect, analyze and remember why you are doing what you are doing.

DO THIS from time to time.

It’s good for you.

All too often I think society and everyone around you are always pushing you, telling you you need to do this and that in order to achieve greatness in life. They go all ape shit crazy and are like, “Don’t ever give up! You got to go against the pain and suffering! Suffering is good!”.

The problem is that, some people get lost along the way. Yeah even when you have a goal in mind or a vision to look ahead for, you can get lost on the way. You just forget what you are doing or trying to achieve.

This is when it’s actually super okay to STOP moving forward, stop making all kinds of progress and stop getting any work done.

So then you take a step back…

 

You take a breather, relax and chill the fuck out.

Then you remember why you are doing what you are doing. You got to remind yourself why you are doing it and for what. You will be surprised at the number of distinctions that may even come up with along the way. 

Seriously this helps a lot. Not only can it help you relax a little, but re-empowers, re-inspires you and gives you back that motivation you need. I dare say even working too hard like some really motivated dude who’s going to take on the world is overrated.

Even for me, a person who loves to write and be a Bboy. In the midst  of self-doubt, I just relax, take a chill pill and ask myself like, “Why the fuck am I doing this? Why am I writing and blogging so hard when I don’t see much results yet? Why am I practicing 10 hours a week Bboying?”. I answer them myself with complete clarity. Then I continue ahead. 

This is the part you don’t give up.

      Word…

      I think sometimes we need to hear these words. Everybody knows not to give up in their heads, but sometimes a little nudge in the right direction would help.
