I think when we all get upset, angry and generally emotional, we become kids.
We become the kid who wants to be heard, to be validated and to be right, even though you could be wrong.
We throw rationale, reason and respect out the door as we indulge in hearsay, gossip, assumptions and flinging insults at each other.
It’s all a waste of time of course.
So when somebody starts the whole charade of, “I heard he said…”, “She heard from long ago”, “Last time, he said this and did that” or “You’re stupid”, you back away, use your common sense and start thinking.
You say, “We’re all adults here” or “We’re all professionals.”
Don’t become the kid. Use fact already.
