Be disgusted with yourself, until you’re not disgusted


Long ago, I wrote about The Cringe here.

This is something I think every Bboy and dancer have to go through, and that is watching yourself on video.

First you watch yourself. It’s like looking in a mirror.

You hate what you see.

But you have to deal with it and go through with it anyway.

Then you either use that disgust from within to wanna be better.

Then you go back to practice.

Until you’re not disgusted anymore.

This is the difference people who hate themselves, to the point of no return or people who care for themselves enough to give a shit to make a change.

    This is a good exercise to do, but is also SUCH an awkward one. I see the necessity though… it’s important to take a good look at these things, no matter how it feels, to identify your flaws and strong points and determine what to change accordingly. I’m definitely in favor of practicing until there’s no more disgust.
